“I’m so grateful for my awesome microbladed brows by Barb Deyo. People considering it should understand it’s a process, and the end result will be waking up to full natural looking brows that weren’t that way before. After the first session, I loved them right away! The next day, my brows looked dark and a little angry, but that was to be expected, and I adjusted as they calmed down. You aren’t all bloody and scabby when it’s done either, so don’t be scared! During the procedure, I didn’t feel a thing thanks to the topical numbing agent she used. I did experience flaking at about day 5 as they started to “shed,” and for the next few days they looked patchy until that part ran its course. For the next week, my brows looked very light, but Barb explained the process very thoroughly, so I knew this was normal. After 4 weeks, I could see where I needed the touch up, which is again totally normal – and the second round wasn’t as dramatic when it was healing, and only took about a week or so. You’ll easily survive and you can go out in public and look fine. I am under bright lights in the public eye every week and didn’t take time off for healing. Keeping your brows dry for 10 days is a challenge, but worth the adjustment for the best result. Resisting scratching the itchy healing part insures a better result too. You can do it, but you have to follow the instructions! They are so youthful! A short time to invest, relative to how I felt having sparse brows, post menopause! About 6-8 weeks total healing time with both sessions and I could not be happier! Thank you, Barb Deyo! You are the BEST and I love my brows!

Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo, using a “hair stroke” technique to create fuller, more defined, yet natural looking brows. A “single use” manual tool, consisting of a bundle of tightly bound needles creates a tiny cut to be able to deposit pigment into the skin, simulating the look of hair. The needles only reach the superficial layers of the skin, therefore lasting 1-2 years. The hair strokes fade down naturally over time, and you can freshen up every year or so, as per your preference. Other techniques we use include micro-shading, feathering, fogging and scoring, depending on the look you are going for. Your brows will be custom designed and executed by using one of or a combination of these techniques.
What do I need to do to prepare prior to the procedure?
Chemical exfoliants such as Retinol/Retin-A, glycolic acid, etc. must be discontinued 7 days prior to procedure. (It will cause the skin to bleed). Injections (Botox, Radiesse, JuvaDerm, Voluma, etc.) must be done 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after procedure. Chemical peels and laser treatments may not be done within 60 days before or after procedure. You cannot expose the area to the sun for 30 days prior to your procedure. Do not schedule this procedure within one week prior to a water vacation. Avoid alcohol and caffeine 1 day before procedure to minimize any oozing, bleeding or swelling. Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen, niacin, fish oil or vitamin E or any other blood thinners 3 days prior to procedure unless medically necessary.
What can I expect during my appointment?
All the appropriate paperwork will be emailed to you, or can be downloaded on our website, and should be filled out prior to coming to your appointment. Be sure to read all the PRE instructions carefully to make sure you are a good candidate for Microblading or other forms of semi permanent makeup. Once you arrive, numbing cream will be applied and will need to sit for 20 minutes for it to process. During that time, you and your artist will discuss shape, color and expectations for your brows. Once you are numb and ready to go, the application will begin! Your artist will carefully construct your new, beautiful brows, one hair stroke at a time! The entire procedure should take about 1 ½ hours.
What can I expect afterwards?
Immediately after your session, you will have some minor redness and you will be thrilled! The morning after however – they will be DARK! DO NOT PANIC, IT WILL LIGHTEN! The color you will see the day after the procedure will lighten 30-50%! As the epidermis layer heals, sheds and renews, your brows will undergo many changes during the next 30 days. Please be patient with the process until after 30 days to see your final results. You will know at that point whether a touch up is necessary. During the healing process – DO NOT TOUCH your brows. You may experience flaking, dryness and itching. This is just your skin healing. It is normal. Leave them alone and let them go through the healing process. When you return for your 4-6 week touch up, this will be fine tuning your shape, and will not take as long, and the healing time is reduced. It’s really not as scary is it may sound, and the healing process will pass quickly and you will be so glad you took the plunge!
